Visakhapatnam: An interactive GST awareness programme was conducted by Srivalli Shipping and Logistics Private Limited in association with the officers of the Visakhapatnam Central GST Commissionerate in the city on Thursday.

Inaugurating the programme, the Principal Commissioner of Central Tax, Visakhapatnam, B Hareram, said several steps were being taken to streamline procedures and further simplify the GST provisions. He urged all the participants to take active part in the awareness programme and clear all doubts they had on the implementation procedures.

FA Cooper and CN Anantha Narayan, senior superintendents of the Central GST Commissionerate conducted the interactive session which lasted over five hours. Srivalli Shipping, along with their associate partners and other service providers, clarified all their doubts on the various procedures in GST.

Several queries related to SEZ supplies under GST, export related benefits, GST rates and exemptions related to transport related services, preparation of tax invoices, return filing were discussed in detail in the session. A presentation was also made on the manner of filing the interim Return GSTR-3B for the months of July and August 2017.

P. Muthusamy, Additional Commissioner Central Tax, Sunil Kumar Shazalan and Nagraj, Assistant Commissioners of Central Tax, Visakhapatnam Central and Visakhapatnam North Divisions respectively and their divisional officers also participated in the awareness programme.
