Focus on school dropouts, officials told
District Collector S Satyanarayana directed ICDS Project Director Jubeda Begum here on Thursday to ensure that the deserted children in the district were admitted in KGBV School after giving a wide publicity. Participating in a review meeting with the officials concerned at the Collectorate, the Collector directed the District Educational Officer and ICDS Project Director to identify the dropouts
Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana directed ICDS Project Director Jubeda Begum here on Thursday to ensure that the deserted children in the district were admitted in KGBV School after giving a wide publicity. Participating in a review meeting with the officials concerned at the Collectorate, the Collector directed the District Educational Officer and ICDS Project Director to identify the dropouts in the sixth class and readmit them.
He instructed Deputy Labour Commissioner Balu Naidu to identify the child labourers engaged at brick kilns, calcium ovens, house construction sites and other places. He said that they should be admitted in the nearest KGBV School. Bringing to the notice of the District Collector, the Social Welfare Deputy Director Prasad Rao said that several children engaged in the construction works were going out of the district.
The ICDS PD said that the committee constituted for the care of children was paying special attention and awareness programmes are also being conducted with the help of Nyaya Seva Sahakara Samstha. ASP Shaik Sha Vali, DEO Tehara Sultana and members of voluntary organisations were present.
