GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research holds blood donation camp
GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (GIMSR) organised a blood donation camp here on Thursday.
Visakhapatnam: GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (GIMSR) organised a blood donation camp here on Thursday.GIMSR principal SP Rao, GIMSR Hospital medical superintendent SV Varalakshmi inaugurated the blood donation camp and highlighted the noble gesture of blood donation which could make a difference between life and death for a patient in an emergency.
They mentioned that young people were among the most committed group of blood donors and contribute a significant portion of the nation’s blood supply. They appreciated the student NSS volunteers for their commitment.
About 1,000 NSS volunteers from GIMSR Medical College, Dental College, School of Architecture, Institute of Technology donated blood.
The blood donation camp was monitored by NTR Blood Bank, Lions Blood Bank, GIMSR Hospital blood bank under the guidance R Sudhakar and GIMSR NSS programme officer R Ramana Rao, programme coordinator G Veereswara Swami.
