According to the police, Shaik Arifa (20) jumped off her train before it halted on its platform in the railway station at Singarayakonda in Prakasam district, unable to bear the beastly act of her stalkers.

She was out of danger as she received minor injuries. She was receiving treatment in RIMS (Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here. She boarded the train at Egmore railway station in Chennai along with her friends.

Trauma for her began after the train reached the Chennai outskirts as a gang of stalkers from a northern state began teasing and heaping abusive and lewd remarks against her. As there was no stopping of harassment till 2 PM, she took the extreme step when the train was about to halt in the railway station. Her friends complained that no one of the co-passengers came to her rescue all through.

The Singarayakonda railway police shifted the victim to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Science in Ongole. Vijayawada railway police arrested four north Indians for their alleged involvement in the eve-teasing following a tip from the Ongole railway police. The doctors said that she suffered injuries on head and hands but is completely out of danger.
