Amaravati: Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister K E Krishna Murthy said the State government has taken a decision to establish nine new urban revenue mandals.

There are three mandals each in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and one each in Kurnool, Nellore and Guntur.Krishna Murthy said the Stamps and Registration Department has achieved revenue of Rs 1,660 crore by the end of August while the total revenue target is Rs 4,000 crore for 2017-18 fiscal.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, the Minister said several reforms were introduced in Revenue Department and online services made the access of revenue services and revenue records easy to public in the past three years.
He said the government was in favour of increasing the time limit of Special Investigation Team (SIT) which was probing into the irregularities of land records in Visakhapatnam district.

Draft bill on decrease of ‘Nala’ fee was under consideration of the Governor and an ordinance in this regard would be issued soon, he said. New buildings will be arranged for 108 mandal revenue offices and 8 revenue divisional offices.

The Minister said the State government would conduct Collectors’ conference in Vijayawada on September 20 and 21. Revenue department solved 39,775 of total 1.5 lakh complaints related to land records and 1.36 crore land records had been computerised.

Krishna Murthy said the government has decided to regularise 24 lakh acres of dotted lands by providing ownership right to the persons who have been holding the lands for over 12 years.

Explaining the other initiatives, he said the government has issued 4.51 lakh loan eligible letters to tenant farmers and several new services such as residence integrated date of birth certificates were also introduced in Mee Seva.
Krishna Murthy reiterated that he would not oppose the entry of Byreddi Rajasekhara Reddy into Telugu Desam and the decision of chief minister would be final over the issue.
