Vijayawada: Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy triggered a debate by suggesting that party national president N Chandrababu Naidu immerse himself in national politics and making his son Nara Lokesh as Chief Minister in the next general elections.

In a speech on a resolution at Mahanadu on Tuesday, the veteran politician asked Naidu to pass on the party leadership too to Lokesh as hereditary.

Substantiating his suggestions, Diwakar Reddy maintained that the TDP was the property of Chandrababu Naidu’s family as he alone developed the party. Naidu strived to strengthen the party in the state for the last two decades by overcoming many problems, he said.

“You worked as Chief Minister for 13 years and served as Leader of Opposition for 10 years. What else you want? Let Lokesh come to the power! He has the leadership qualities and abilities,” Diwakar said addressing the Chief Minister who was also present. Reacting to it, Lokesh explained that only Chandrababu Naidu only could develop the state and no one could do justice to the state like him.

Another MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar of Amudalavalasa observed that if the party and people accept Lokesh’s leadership, then he would also welcome Lokesh as Chief Minister. At this juncture, a majority of the leaders were observed that Chandrababu Naidu could play greater role in national politics as proved by past experience.
