NTR remembered on birth anniversary
The 95th birthday celebrations of legendary actor and former chief minister NT Rama Rao were jointly organised by Tapaswi Cultural Arts and Sri Durgamalleswara Ganesh Seva Samithi with the assistance of Department of Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh at Makineni Basavapunnaiah Vignana Kendram here on Monday.
Vijayawada: The 95th birthday celebrations of legendary actor and former chief minister NT Rama Rao were jointly organised by Tapaswi Cultural Arts and Sri Durgamalleswara Ganesh Seva Samithi with the assistance of Department of Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh at Makineni Basavapunnaiah Vignana Kendram here on Monday.
Dr Turlapati Kutumbarao, who presided over the meeting remembered his association with Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and said there was no replacement in acting.
Turlapati also said that NTR was known for punctuality, sincerity and discipline.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest of the meeting and the chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Police Housing Board Shaik Nagul Meera said that NTR was icon for Telugu culture and humanity.
Karnati Lakshmi Narasaiah and former MLA K Subba Raju was also recollected their association with NTR and paid rich tributes to the legendary personality.
On this platform, the organisers felicitated some of the personalities, who served in different fields.
Pilla Nataraj was honoured for his great contribution to theatre. Kanna Sivadurga Rao and M Bhavani Sankar were felicitated for their courageousness during the boat mishap in Krishna river.
