Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday attended Ramzan celebrations at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada where he greeted Muslim leaders and commoners on the occasion of Eid. He even joined Muslims in offering Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday attended Ramzan celebrations at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada where he greeted Muslim leaders and commoners on the occasion of Eid. He even joined Muslims in offering Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.

Addressing the gathering later, Chandrababu conveyed his greetings to the Muslims in Urdu and stated that he prayed to the Almighty Allah for the prosperity and happiness of the people.

Stating that the TDP government was giving top priority to maintaining communal harmony in Andhra Pradesh, he recalled that TDP was the first party to oppose triple talaq bill and Rs 1,100 crore was allocated in the state budget for the welfare of minorities.

Showering boons on Muslims, he announced that 25 residential schools for minorities would be opened soon, construction of Urdu Ghar and Shadi Khanas at various places, Ramzan Thofa to 12 lakh people, Dulhan Scheme, Pre & Post-Metric scholarships and Urdu Academy in the state.

Mentioning that the AP government is committed to removing poverty of minority sections, the Chief Minister also assured regarding financial assistance for the repairs and new constructions of mosques as well as construct Huz house & Embarkation point in Vijayawada.
