Chittoor: District poised to become industrial hub with better road connectivity, said Industries Minister N Amaranatha Reddy. Participating in the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held at the Collectorate here on Thursday, the Minister stated several national and international companies are coming forward to establish their units in the district with the widening of national highways.

He stated the government is committed to encourage the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the district by providing subsidy for the entrepreneurs and financial support from banks. More support to women entrepreneurs in establishing MSMEs, he said, adding road connectivity would be an added advantage for the industrial growth. The Minister enlisted the progress of various industries in the district.

Presiding over the meeting, Chittoor MP Dr N Sivaprasad said importance should be given to agriculture on par with industries in the district. The MP proudly claimed that he used his Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds for creating infrastructure in government schools.

Tirupati MLA Suguna, Satyavedu MLA T Aditya, GD Nellore MLA Narayana Swamy, District Collector PS Pradyumna, MCT Commissioner Vijay Rama Raju, ZP Chairperson Girvani, Joint Collector-II Chandramouli and others were present.
