Visakhapatnam: Collector Pravin Kumar visited various interior areas in the agency and interacted with the tribals. As the number of dengue cases is on the rise in the agency, the Collector, along with heads of the line departments, inspected the hospitals in Paderu and Araku Valley mandals.

While interacting with the tribals, the Collector informed that all the medical officers and staff have been alerted and necessary medicines also kept ready at all the primary and community health centres.

He called upon the people not to neglect the health and immediately consult the doctors, if any one suffers from fever. He also informed that enough numbers of ambulances have been deployed to lift the patients during emergency.

The Collector said that tests for confirmation of the dengue fever would be conducted at King George Hospital only and no private hospital would conduct such screening tests.

The Collector enquired about the medical facilities and treatment at Araku and Paderu area hospitals. He directed the doctors to shift the critical patients to KGH without any delay.

He also visited Gudivada Colony in Paderu mandal and assured the family members of the patients, who are suffering from dengue and malaria, that the government would provide good medical treatment and need not worry about their kith and kin.

Later, addressing the media, the he said that there is less malaria cases reported this year. The administration well alerted and ensuring necessary medical needs in the agency.

Doctors are working round-the-clock at all the 36 PHCs in the agency and medicines also kept ready during emergency, he added. The administration also taking steps to create awareness among people to prevent fevers, he added.
