Visakhapatnam: M Lakshmi, Managing Director, Patra BPO Services and Chairperson of Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh, highlighted the need for women to develop the culture of courage to encounter the difficulties being faced in society for success in their life.
She made this observation while speaking at the Women in Public Sector (WIPS) Formation Day organised at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Thursday.
Addressing the women employees of RINL-VSP, she mentioned that the modern women should learn to negotiate with their family for emerging as successful citizens in the country and the government policies for women empowerment are yielding good results. The women workforce is rapidly increasing in the country since 1990 and is competing with men in many fields, Lakshmi said.
KC Das, Director (Personnel), RINL, exhorted women employees of RINL to work with commitment and focus on learning to grow in their career. The RINL is always in forefront in bringing women empowerment to their employees and extending various facilities to grow.
He advocated WIPS to utilise the social media for creating awareness on women empowerment and gender equality, which are considered as important for nation building.
V Padmavathi, DGM (HR) and Coordinator of WIPS explained the achievements of women employees of RINL and their activities. Debasish Ray, Executive Director (Personnel), and RV Rao, GM (HR) & Honorary President of WIPS, also spoke. Later, Das released the annual newsletter DISHAbeing brought out by WIPS-VSP to mark the occasion.
