Vizianagaram: The cadre of two sitting MLAs who come under the purview of Vizianagaram Lok Sabha constituency, have raised their voice and demanded the TDP high command not to field them again in their respective constituencies.

The TDP is holding Lok Sabha Constituency level review meetings at Amaravati. Of the 8 constituencies, leaders from seven Assembly constituencies attended the review meeting. Apart from the invitation from high command, the sitting MLAs and aspirants also have taken their supporters to raise their voice.

The leaders of Gajapathinagaram Assembly constituency have strongly raised their voice against the sitting MLA K Appala Naidu. The local sarpanches, MPTCs and others have demanded the high command to give an opportunity to Kondababu instead of Appalanaidu. Interestingly, both Kondababu and Appalanaidu are own brothers and sons of Pydithalli Naidu, former MP.

The cadre demanding the high command to give a chance to Kondababu to prove his commitment. Similarly the cadre under the leadership of M Varahala Naidu, ZPTC of Cheepurupalli, also strongly opposed to the candidature of K Mrinalini, who is sitting MLA here.

They demanded the high command to send those migrated leaders from this district (Mrinalini belongs to Srikakulam and close relative to K Kala Venkata Rao, president of AP TDP). She suddenly became the candidate of Cheepurupalli during 2014 elections and won over Botcha Satyanarayana and became minister. Now, the local leaders are opposing her as MLA candidate and demanding to give the chance to locals.

They alleged that Mrinalini never supported the local leaders and even encouraged them in any way. The cadre have clearly told the high command that they would be with scions of Bobbili Samsthanam and they would work either with Sujay (sitting MLA) or Babynaina. The discussions over Vizianagaram, Nellimarla and Etcherla are yet to be concluded.

Varahala Naidu, ZPTC of Cheepurupalli stated, “We worked for the party for the past few years but the present MLA never recognised us. It seems that she is least bothered about the mandal and village level leadership. We are asking to give the chance to our local leadership rather than migrated leaders,” he said.
