No Amala in Naresh’s film

While the tinsel town is abuzz with the news that Amala Paul might play the female lead in Allari Naresh’s next project, we have reliably learnt that she is not part of the project. It’s been widely written that the Kerala-born would make a comeback to Tollywood, and would be paired up with Naresh in the Telugu remake of Malayalam film ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’. Although she was approached for the leading lady role the ‘Nayak’ star had to turn down the offer due to date issues.

Apparently, the dates of her Telugu project would clash with that of her other projects in Tamil and Kannada. A source close to the actress informs, “Amala was approached but she could not take it up because she is currently prepping for her upcoming Malayalam film, apart from having three Tamil and a Kannada project in her kitty.” Director Anish Krishna (‘Ala Ela’ fame), who would helm the Telugu version, is already on the lookout for another actress.
