The pre-release function of the film ‘Shambho Shankara’ in which Shakalaka Shankar of ‘Jabardast’ fame is playing the lead role, was held in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Shankar appealed to all the bigwigs in the Telugu film industry to ensure that his film was a blockbuster.

He said that he went to meet director Trivikram Srinivas and narrated the story of ‘Shambho Shankara’ and asked him to take up the project with Rs 2 crore and assured him that it would make a profit of Rs 8 crore. But at that time, Trivikram was busy directing the film of my mentor and guide Pawan Kalyan, he added.

Then, Shankar approached producer Dil Raju and Allu Sirish but they said that would be free only after two years. However, Ramana Reddy from Nellore understood his plight and agreed to produce the film. Newcomers in the industry and directors like Sridhar would be able to enter Tollywood and flourish only if there were producers like Ramana Reddy, Shankar added.

He said that power star Power Kalyan was like a God to him whom he worships and added that he closely resembles Pawan in the stills of this movie. In other words, it was a lookalike of Pawan Kalyan. He said even if 25 per cent of Pawan’s fans watch this film, the film would fetch Rs 60 crore.

He also appealed to the fans of Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, and other top actors to watch his film so that it could rake in profits. Shakalaka Shankar said that like Pawan, he also helps the aspiring and struggling actors financially in Tollywood. Pawan Kalyan’s fans should also come forward and help their hero to become a great political leader as it would benefit the society as a whole.

Director Sridhar said Shankar was a man with a heart of gold and he gave half of his earnings to the budding artistes and those who were struggling in the crane and production department besides, feeding several people in his house. As such, he was not even in a position to purchase his own house, he lamented. The film is all set to release on Friday.
