In corporate, starting from the low profiled officers to CEO’s, love to do only the easiest job and would entrust or leave the jobs that are difficult and laborious to others.
In corporate, starting from the low profiled officers to CEO’s, love to do only the easiest job and would entrust or leave the jobs that are difficult and laborious to others. This convenient ad cunning approach, we can see our society as well. Is this attitude a sign of laziness or indifference?
Most corporate these days, spends huge revenue on people to train and convert them as risk takers, managerial leaders and task masters than be lazy and indifferent and settles with easy tasks. One may wonder why some people in corporate (honestly, all) have such attitude? The above syndrome of people prefers to do the job that is easy and do not want to attend the job that requires an extra effort and attention, has its link in our evolution.
Hence the above problem is not merely a behaviourial issue but may be linked with our genes. It has been scientifically proved that the parrot species ‘Eclectus’ that present in Australia, New Guinea and other adjoining areas, sometime selectively kill its male chicks soon after they hatch. One may wonder why the mother kills her own chicks and that too, only the male chicks.
This is done to enhance the survival of the female chicks. It is proved that the male chicks would take 10 days more to grow than the female chicks. It means, the parents have to invest an extra effort and time to rear the male chicks. Whereas rearing and caring the female chicks is easiest. Perhaps the Eclectus parrot would have thought of doing the easiest job than the difficult one like how most people in corporate are.
The easiest job can be completed quickly; they can free themselves from the responsibility and are ready and free to take up another easy task or can get engaged in gossip. But the Eclectus parrot has a strong reason to do so. The Eclectus parrot is definitely not gender biased or lazy like many people in corporate.
When the food is inadequate and the threat from predators is high, the female parrot cannot afford to invest more time on brood care and hence kills the male chicks.
The parrot has a strong reason to be so. The question is why the corporate people always prefer the easy job. The absolute truth is that they like not to do any job. When such possibility is less, they prefer to do the easier job. In every probability, they avoid doing the job that requires effort, responsibility and patience.
The strong reason of Eclectus parrot has become the ‘wise’ and the ‘most preferred’ choice of people in corporate. Only due to helpless situation, the Eclectus parrot resorts to doing the easier job of rearing the female chicks and kills the male chicks.
Ironically, most capable people in corporate loves to engage only in doing the easiest job and push the most difficult jobs to their juniors, subordinates and those who cannot resist or disagree. Remember, every component of the behaviour of corporate man has deep roots in nature. By learning the nature and its structure and function, the corporate can learn several management insights to govern the task and people.
