Influenza is a highly infectious virus disease causing fever, muscular pain, and severe aches. Influenza can occur in epidemics (affecting a large number of people in an area or country). Influenza comes from the Medieval Latin word ‘influentia’ meaning influence. Influenzal is an adjective.

In 2009 nearly all influenza cases were caused by thepandemic H1N1 virus, driving the previously dominant H3N2 underground. Neeta had flu, so she could not catch the flight to California for an audition. Flu, the viral illness, is spread by cough, also when somebody sneezes and could be unpleasant to the infectant. Flu is common in winters.

The difference between flu and cold is that the latter is less severe than the former. Doctors say if you have flu you should rest at home, drink lot of water to prevent dehydration and prescribed tablet to lower the temperature. When the body fails to fight against the flu, doctors give anti-viral drugs to the patients.

Flue is a duct for smoke and waste gases produced by a fire, a gas heater, a power station, or other fuel-burning installation; a tube, especially a large one, in a fire-tube boiler. Flue is a smoke-duct to conduct or transport the smoke to the chimney. Flue conveys or transports exhaust gases from a fireplace, furnace, boiler, or water heater to the outdoors.

A flue should in all cases be provided to carry off the fumes of the fuel. The Silesian furnace has an oblong hearth sloping from the firebridge to the flue-bridge.
