Hyderabad: In an attempt to gain the lost ground among the settler population in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N Chandrababu Naidu will campaign for two days in the ensuing GHMC elections, according to confirmed reports.
It was decided that Chandrababu will campaign on January 28 and 29 in some localities where settlers from Seemandhra region have sizable presence. Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Lokesh is already on a campaign spree in some of the segments.
According to information, Naidu will campaign in Kutbhullapur, Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Jubilee Hills and other areas on Thursday. Similarly, Naidu will campaign and address public meetings in some localities including Sanathnagar, Secunderabad, Uppal, LB Nagar, Saroornagar and Malakpet on January 29.
The TDP and BJP got into an agreement of seat sharing and roped in candidates accordingly. The TDP boss is learnt to have adopted strategic move of silence on his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekar Rao and has been abstaining from criticising him recently. The elections are scheduled to be held on February 2 and the results will be announced on February 5.
