Students belonging to the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarti Parishad (ABVP)  conducted a protest rally and formed a human chain in the town on Wednesday against the attitude of the leftist parties, their student unions and the Congress over the suicide of research scholar Rohith Vemula.  

Nizamabad: Students belonging to the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarti Parishad (ABVP) conducted a protest rally and formed a human chain in the town on Wednesday against the attitude of the leftist parties, their student unions and the Congress over the suicide of research scholar Rohith Vemula.

Speaking on the occasion, ABVP student’s union leader Rakesh lashed out at leftists parties and the Congress for blaming the Central government for the suicide of Rohith Vemula, though it had nothing to do with it. He alleged that the Congress was trying to create unrest by disturbing the academic atmosphere in Universities.

It was only trying to promote casteist politics unnecessarily, he alleged. Rakesh accused the leaders of political parties for misusing Dr B R Ambedkar’s name to gain political mileage. though they had no faith in Ambedkar’s ideology. He said the Ambedkar gave priority to the country over his personal agenda unlike these selfish Congress and left leaders He demanded these parties to desist from stoking the fires of casteism in universities.
