Talking to the news men here on Thursday, Management Consultant and Secretary of the Society, Dr MC Das said that society has came forward with an global initiative launching the web site for creating awareness among the public with a slogan 'You Need Not Be a Doctor; You Can Still Save a Life'.

About 38 per cent of deaths in India are due to Heart attack, brain stork and road accidents. Majority of the victims in the cases are mostly of the productive age. In 2014, as per official figures, some 4.5 lakh road accidents caused in which 1.42 lakh deaths and injured more than 4.8 lakh persons, irreversibly disabling many, he said.

MC Das said that road accidents deaths alone cause 3 per cent loss to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of India per annum. Loss of life and disability can be prevented if timely and appropriate action is taken thus saving lives, which avoids loss to the economy of the country.

Time is Heart, Time is Brain, Time is Life. The first hour of heart attack, first three hours of brain stroke and the first minutes of accident are Golden Hours and Platinum Minutes, he added.

Dr Ramesh Educational Society, President, MS Ramamohana Rao said that a convention will be held at Siddhartha Auditorium on Saturday. Former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshmi Narayana and Dr P Ramesh Babu, Managing Director of Ramesh Hospitals will preside over the meeting in which district officials will also take part, he said.

Rao also said that a convention will be also conducted at Guntur Medical College, Guntur on the same day, where Former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshmi Narayana and Dr Nayudamma (Padmashri Awardee) will be felicitated on the occasion.
