The New Year celebrations as per Hindu calendar and Ugadi festival were celebrated grandly at Padmanayaka Function Hall in Sircilla on Wednesday. The Collector participated in the special puja programme and Panchanga Sravanam organised on the occasion of Ugadi festival along with the officials of district administration.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that by implementing various schemes and projects for the welfare of the people, the Telangana government was becoming an ideal of other states in the country.

He assured that all the schemes and projects introduced by the State government would be implemented successfully in the newly formed Sircilla district in the New Year so that they reach every household in the district.

The district will be placed on top position in all fields to make it an ideal. The people must involve in all the developmental activities introduced by the government, he suggested. Krishna Bhaskar inaugurated a book ‘Jagati Mechhina Pathakalu’, which describes various welfare schemes and projects introduced by the Telangana State government.

Later poets, school students and artistes presented various programmes and cultural activities. Collector Krishna Bhaskar, Joint Collector Yasmine Basha and District Revenue Officer Shyam Prasad Lal dressed in traditional attire grabbed the attention of many during the celebrations.

Rural Development Officer Panduranga, Sircilla MPP Sri Latha, Village Development Officer Hanumanth Rao, District Agricultural Officer Shailaja, District Welfare Officer M Saraswathi, District Public Relation Officer Mamidala Dasharatham, Divisional Panchayat Rak Officer Shekar, District Medical and Health Officer Ramesh, and Siricilla Town Tahsildar Raju were also present along with others.
