Suryapet: As many as eight supporters of both Congress and TRS were seriously injured during a clash at a meeting of identification of sheep beneficiaries at Ravulapally village of Thungathurthy mandal on Thursday. The injured were shifted to local and Suryapet hospitals for treatment.

According to the police, mandal-level officials came to the Ravulapally village on the day to identify sheep beneficiaries. They conducted a meeting with two registered shepherd unions - Yuva Sena shepherd union, which was supported by Congress party and Ganga Bhavani shepherd union, supported by TRS.

Members of one of the association raised objections over the selection when the list of the beneficiaries was announced, which led to heated arguments and physical attack with chairs and stones between Congress and TRS supporters.

The condition of Komuraiah, one of the injured, was critical and shifted to Suryapet area hospital. On information, Thungathurthy police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
