Through a video conference On Thursday, the Collector held a review meeting with mandal level officials - Tahasildars, Mandal Parishad Development Officials (MPDOs), doctors at Primary Health Centers (PHCs), veterinary doctors and other officials.

He reviewed the progress of welfare schemes like Kalyana Laxmi, Shaadi Mubarak, KCR kits, Sadabainama pending cases, sheep distribution and distribution of pension to single (poor) women.

He directed the mandal level officials to clear all the Sadabainama pending applications before June 10.``We are organising a Sadabainama mela from 6 to 9 this month. The mandal level officials have to conduct meeting with the local representatives and clear all the pending applications before 10th June,” he said.

He asked the officials to take bio-metric of the beneficiaries. In majority villages, the bio-metric machines are not functioning properly. He said and directed the officials to rectify the defects in the machines at the earliest.

The Collector also stressed on the conduct of ‘Grama Sabhas’ in the presence of local MLA before selecting the beneficiaries for Sheep distribution, Kalayanalaxmi and Shaadi Mubarak and pensions for the single women. “All applications must be thoroughly checked before selecting a beneficiary for a particular welfare scheme,’’ he said.

As part of sheep distribution programme, the Collector asked the officials to get ready with at least 5000 units in the district so that each mandal will be distributed with 200 units of sheep to the beneficiaries.
