Kakatiya University department of Mathematics is holding a three-day XXVI Congress of AP Society for Mathematical Sciences (APSMS) from August 11 to 13 on the university campus.

​Warangal: Kakatiya University department of Mathematics is holding a three-day XXVI Congress of AP Society for Mathematical Sciences (APSMS) from August 11 to 13 on the university campus.

The University Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna has released the brochure of the event on Thursday at his chambers. This is the second time the university is hosting the Congress. Earlier the university conducted the event in 2006.

As a part of the Congress a national conference will be organised on the theme ‘Recent advances in Mathematics’ informed the V-C. The society is still undivided and continuing its name as AP SMS even after formation of separate Telangana.

About 300 participants across the country including a few mathematics scholars from China are participating, he said adding invited lecture and 21 endowment lectures will be part of the conference.

Faculty members Prof P Malla Reddy, T Sumathi Umamheshwari, M Thirumala Devi, LP Rajkumar, T Nagaiah and P Narasimha Swamy are present at the brochure release.
