Bhavan\'s Sri Aurobindo Junior College ruled the roost in the Hyderabad-leg of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) Athletics Championship, which concluded at the Gachibowli Stadium recently.

The Bhavan's athletes powered their team to glory in the Senior Boys and the Senior Girls’ category. They dominated the 5000m Senior Girls race, with Kannuru Gangothri clocking 25 minutes and 03.04 secs to finish first and teammate Narra Shravani coming second in 27 minutes 32.69 seconds. Interestingly, the Bhavan’s duo was the only runners to finish the gruelling race.
The Telangana State Sports School were also not far behind, winning the Junior Boys title and emerging runners-up in the Senior Boys and Girls categories. TSSS athletes also hogged the limelight in the individual categories, with middle-distance runner D Srikant being adjudged the best performer in the Senior Boys’ category and N Ritesh finishing second best in the Junior Boys.
St Joseph's Degree and PG College claimed the College Boys’ honours while Government Degree College ruled the roost in the College Girls’ category.
More than 1,700 students from over 230 schools, colleges and institutes in and around Hyderabad took part in the four-day championships. Over 15,000 girls and boys from 2,000+ institutes in eight different cities are participating in this nation-wide championship.
