Islamabad: Leader of opposition Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has unveiled his "occupy Islamabad" plan where party workers will block roads leading to government offices in the capital city calling for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's disqualification.

"Now, Nawaz Sharif will have to either resign or will be held accountable for his proven corruption," Khan said on Saturday.

The cricketer-turned-politician, however, hinted at the possibility of a change in the schedule of the Islamabad lock-down date, Dawn online reported.

Earlier, he had announced October 30 as the final showdown date.

"If you want to see Pakistan in its real vein, come and join the PTI in its decisive sit-in in Islamabad," he said.

He critcised the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the previous Pakistan People's Party (PPP) governments for weakening state institutions and also stated that authorities had failed to act against the Prime Minister, Chief Minister of Punjab province Shahbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar who he has deemed as being corrupt.

On August 15, the PTI had filed a reference against the Prime Minister calling for his disqualification as a Member of the National Assembly.

A plea for the disqualification was forwarded to the Election Commission of Pakistan on October 1.
