Yes, it is finally the season to take out those short dresses and wear the skimpiest of shorts and tops. Summers bring in a fresh, rejuvenated look into everybody’s lives Summer season can be harsh on the skin if proper care and precautions are not taken. The sweltering heat and burning sun can play havoc if not taken care of. With tanning being a major concern, rashes and sunburns can also leave the skin red and itchy. Surprisingly the face that seemed so radiant and full of glow all through winters, suddenly turns all oily and lifeless in summers.
UV rays damage collagen, increases sunburns and tan, can be the root cause of excessive acne and also increase the percentage of getting wrinkles. Sun exposure combined with pollution and dirt can damage the skin badly. Here are top five tips to keep in mind while you go out and shine on a bright summer morning:
Timings between 10 AM to 4PM can cause wrinkles as the UV rays are the strongest during these hours. One should make sure they either stay indoors or simply apply a good sunscreen with high SPF. A sunscreen should ideally be put 15- 30 minutes in advance so that it gets absorbed and also it should be re-applied if any contact with water is made during the day. Try consulting a dermatologist if you have sensitive skin, as a high SPF might not be suitable.
Moisturization is very important as our skin needs to be hydrated and maintain the adequate salt balance. We usually perspire profusely during scorching summers and this leads to dehydration. Apart from drinking good amount of water , one should take steam and moisturize the face.
A good way to cleanse the skin and body is to include fresh fruits in your diet. It is an excellent way to avoid acne and purify the body. Fruits can also be applied on the face to soothe the skin and remove a tan. So as you enjoy watermelon juice and cucumber lemonade, apply a little on the face too it will bring back the glow and radiance of your skin.
Use a good face pack that is meant for summers and leaves a cooling effect. So products enriched with Aloe Vera, Lemon, Rose Water, Neem, Orange, Mint and many more will be perfect options. Face packs help in removing a tan and also freshens the skin. Every face pack has few good benefits mentioned on the basis of your skin type, one should make sure they pick up a facial pack based on their skin type.
Always remove your makeup at night or anytime you get back home and feel the need to let your skin breathe. As much as make-up seems light and lessens the oil, it is a must that you let your skin breathe and probably use a make remover to ensure your skin is clean.
