11,000 EVMs for GHMC polls
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will use about 11, 000 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the upcoming civic body polls. The Corporation on Wednesday conducted a training session to all presiding and assistant presiding officers on the usage of EVMs during the election.

The Corporation on Wednesday conducted a training session to all presiding and assistant presiding officers on the usage of EVMs during the election.
Speaking on the occasion, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said, “Unlike the previous Corporation elections, the civic body will conduct the election with EVMs, which proved very effective in decreasing manpower, time and expenditure.”
He asked the officials to utilise the services on EVM master trainers for conducting the election smoothly. “Every officer should know the functionality of EVMs to avoid public inconvenience and to help them exercise their vote. Besides this, the GHMC has been educating slum dwellers about casting their vote using EVM,” he added.
Janardhan Reddy added that the State and central government employees from Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Hyderabad districts would be deployed for the election duty.
