Hamalis to get health cards, housing facility
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday announced that marketyard hamali workers will soon get access to health cards. The Minister also promised to vouch for double bedroom houses for the workers.

Inaugurating the BR Ambedkar Vegetable Market Yard at Bowenpally in Secunderabad along with ministers Naini Narsimha Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and T Padma Rao Goud here, Harish said that he would talk to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for providing double bedroom houses for the hamalis.
“So far, only 200 workers have applied for insurance and others should apply for the same,” he said. Harish also directed authorities to set up a health dispensary an d another cold storage plant in the market.
“The Gaddi Annaram Fruit Market will soon be shifted to Koheda area in Ranga Reddy district wherein a big market on par with international standards will be bui lt on 100 acres,” the Minister said.
