Minister for Power G Jagadish Reddy, on Wednesday, made it clear that the TRS has crossed the strength of 700 MPTCs, ZPTCs and Municipal Councillors to win the local bodies MLC elections in the district.
Nalgonda: Minister for Power G Jagadish Reddy, on Wednesday, made it clear that the TRS has crossed the strength of 700 MPTCs, ZPTCs and Municipal Councillors to win the local bodies MLC elections in the district.
Accompanied by Jagadish Reddy, MLC Karne Prabhakar, Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham and Zilla Parishad Chairman Balu Naik, the TRS candidate Tera Chinnapa Reddy submitted another set of nomination papers to the Returning Officer.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, the Power Minister said that out of the total 1,104 MPTCs, ZPTCs and Municipal Councillors, 700 members were ready to support the TRS candidate. This figure may increase on the date of the polling, he added.
Jagadish Reddy listed out the development programmes and welfare schemes taken up by the TRS government during the last 17 months. The elected representatives of the local bodies belonging to other political parties were thinking of joining the TRS with a good intension of taking part in the process of development of the Telangana State, he claimed.
“They might have won on the symbols of other parties, but now they want to back Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who was striving hard for the development of the State”, he maintained. He recalled that the State government has taken up several measures to solve fluoride water problem in Devarakonda and Munugodu constituencies and irrigation problem in Bhongir and Aler constituencies.
Countering the allegation of the Congress leaders that the Bhongir Municipal Councillors have received phone calls from a mafia leader threatening to back the TRS candidate, the Minister made it clear that the TRS had no such debasing culture. He said that people still remember very well as to who lead Operation Akarsh earlier in the district, and urged the Congress leaders not to make such baseless allegations.
Tera Chinnapa Reddy said that the Chief Minister had special interest in the development of Nalgonda district. The Yadadri Thermal Power Plant, which would come up at Damaracharla, would provide employment opportunities to thousands of youth in the district, he added. He exuded confidence that he would win in the elections with a huge majority.
