TRS in upbeat mood ahead of Budget session
The Budget session of Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council will begin on Monday amidst euphoria in TRS ranks which Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has worked up by revealing his intention to forge a federal front to serve as an alternative to the BJP and the Congress. Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan is scheduled to give his address to both the houses at 10 am.
Hyderabad: The Budget session of Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council will begin on Monday amidst euphoria in TRS ranks which Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has worked up by revealing his intention to forge a federal front to serve as an alternative to the BJP and the Congress. Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan is scheduled to give his address to both the houses at 10 am.
The Congress has already sharpened its knives to attack the ruling party on several issues while the latter has readied its ammunition to hit back at the Opposition. As the stage has already been set for preparation with reports pouring in that elections might be held later this year, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender is expected to present his Budget on March 15 which would be a please-all and hurting none one.
At the TRSLP meeting held at Telangana Bhavan, Chandrasekhar Rao reiterated his intention to play a bigger role at national level. “I will be the Chief Minister of the state till 2019, but I will continue to be active in national politics,” the Chief Minister said. “I can leave an impact at national level even by being in the state.
We will not be third front as everybody is saying. We will be the first front,” the Chief Minister is reported to have said at the meeting. The sources in the TRSLP said that the Chief Minister had indicated that he would organise protests in Delhi after the budget session to draw the attention of the entire country to the problems the people were facing.
“Narendra Modi continues to focus on his state while being the Prime Minister,” he said, indicating that he too would not forsake the interests of the state even if he takes up a bigger role at national level.
The Chief Minister sought to allay the fears of the sitting MLAs over whether they would be re-nominated or not. “I will give tickets to all the MLAs. If any one of you have any problem in your respective constituency, I will come to you and sit with you and resolve them.
I will take care that you would win the election,” he said amidst applause from the MLAs. He said in the surveys he had commissioned, it was found that the TRS is set to win between 103 and 106 Assembly seats of the total 119 in the state.
The session is also taking place with the Congress already hitting the roads with a bus yatra in which PCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and others are scything through the TRS’ tall claims of working hard for the well-being of farmers and other sections.
It is learnt that the Chief Minister has said that the members who try to disrupt Governor’s address would be suspended till the end of the session. The Chief Minister asked the MLAs to be polite in their behaviour and advised them not to earn bad name with their behaviour.
