Half-day schools from March 15

The Commissioner and Director of School Education notified half-day schools during the summer with effect from March 15, till the last working day of the academic year 2017-18. A press note released on Monday said primary, upper primary and high schools of all managements, including both government and government-aided and private managements will function from 8 am to 12.30 pm.

In respect of high schools having SSC examination centres, the school timing will be from 1 pm to 5 pm as per the earlier orders, it added. Optional holidays will be applicable for schools rather than individual teachers. The earlier practice of utilisation of optional holidays to the institutions shall be continued, it said.
