Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Monday directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations. The Collector was chairing a review meeting with the officials on the arrangements to be made for celebrating the Independence Day at Zilla Parishad conference hall here.
Speaking at the meeting, Lokesh Kumar said the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao wouldl unfurl the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day at Police Parade Grounds.He asked the officials to keep cheques ready for distribution to the beneficiaries under various schemes.
The Collector instructed the officials to design the tableaux of departments in such a way as to display the various development and welfare activities. The Collector directed the Education Department officials to make arrangements for conducting cultural activities.
He asked the officials to submit reports of their respective departments of development and welfare activities undertaken by them by August 1 to the District Public Relation Officers to include them in the speech to be delivered by the Minister on Independence Day. He instructed the heads of the departments to select an employee in each department for best employee award.
Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Jha, Administrative officer Madan Gopal, DRDA Project Director P Indhumati, District Education Officer Madan Mohan, Revenue Divisional Officer Purnachandram, District Panchayat Raj Officer Srinivas Reddy and District Medical and Health Officer Kondal Rao were present, besides District Public Relation Officer M Srinivas Rao were present at the programme.
