Hanamkonda: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit is all set to go against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to expose its failure in delivering election promises. BJP State president K Laxman will start the State-wide ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ on Tuesday at Zaheerabad. Speaking to presspersons in Hanamkonda on Monday, he said the yatra is meant to educate the masses about the ruling party’s misdeeds.
He said the party had planned agitations and protests against the TRS government’s anti-people policies throughout February, besides the Praja Chaitanya Yatra. Programmes like BC Maha Sangramam, Nirudhyoga Samarabheri, Rythu Poru, Dalit Adalath and Madhyam Meeda Udyamam will be conducted at different parts of the State, he added.
A public meeting will be organised at Adilabad on February 9 where nearly 100 troupes of artists, who have been formed and trained by the party, will conduct ‘BJP Dhoom Dham’ across the State to campaign against the TRS government’s misrule, Laxman said.
He accused that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao deceived Dalits, made false promises to unemployed youth and farmers. The members of Backward Castes (BCs) are being considered as vote bank and Dalits are being duped, as they still did not get the promised three-acre agriculture land, he added.
The TRS is losing public confidence just as the Congress lost faith and patronage of people and had been rejected in the State and other States in the country, he said. Praja Chaitanya Yatra will witness activists of the ruling party and other parties joining BJP in large scale, Laxman added.
Responding to a query, the BJP leader dismissed the rumours on the party leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy quitting the party. On Jana Sena Party founder and actor Pawan Kalyan’s political yatra, he said in a democratic set up anyone can take up tour and it is up to the people on who they support.
The BJP State president expressed confidence that the party will come to power in the State in 2019 elections. Referring to disqualification of AAP MLAs in Delhi, the BJP leader wanted that the seven TRS MLAs who are appointed as Parliamentary Secretaries be disqualified, otherwise the BJP will file complaints to the Governor and to the Central Election Commission.
The party district president Rao Padma, BJP Warangal rural district president A Ashok Reddy, State official spokesperson A Rakesh Reddy, senior leader G Premender Reddy and others were present.
