Godavari boat accident: 5th-day rescue operation continues

East Godavari: The fifth day of boat accident rescue operation continues in the Godavari river. The body of P Krishna Mohan found near Yedurlanka on Thursday. The body was shifted to Rajahmundry government hospital.

The wife and relatives have identified the body of Krishna Mohan by the red T-shirt which he was wearing. His wife Poornima expressed deep shock that he went out of the house as it was Ganesh Nimajjanam on Sunday.

So far, the rescue team has recovered 35 bodies and search operation is ongoing to trace the remaining 17. The NDRF, Navy, and fire department are carrying out the rescue operation.

The boat has been found at 250 ft deep in the river floor with the help of Side-scan sonar. An experts team from Mumbai is trying to bring the boat to the shore.
