11-day Kodanda Ramaswamy Brahmotsavams begin

Kadapa: As part of 11-day annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy temple at Vontimitta in Kadapa district, Dwajarohanam was performed on a grand scale on Saturday. Amid chanting of Vedic hymns, TTD priest Kanakanabhattar Rajesh Kumar Bhattar conducted the event as per Pancharatra Agama Sastra system by establishing Lord Garuda portrait in Vrushabha lagnam between 8:00 am and 9 am in a traditional manner.

Earlier, priests performed special poojas including Tirumanjanam, for the safe conduct of Brahmotsavams which are celebrated for the welfare of mankind. Locals and devotees from surrounding areas thronged in large number to the temple to witness the event.

Meanwhile, the TTD authorities are making elaborate arrangements for successfully conducting the divine wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita on April 18. As part of this initiative, preparation of Muthyala Talambralu started on the premises of the temple.

According to the TTD Public Relations Officer (PRO) Dr T Ravi, about 2 lakh Muthyala Talambralu packets are being kept ready for distribution to devotees who attend the celestial wedding. Temple Deputy EO Natesh Babu, AEO Ramaraju, SV recording project special officer Muni Rathnam Reddy and others were present.
