181 in fray from 14 Assembly seats

Tirupati: After the completion of nomination process, it was clear that in majority of the 14 Assembly constituencies in the district the main fight will be between TDP and YSRCP candidates only. Though, Jana Sena, BJP and Congress candidates were also in the fray ruling TDP and opposition YSRCP are expected to have a serious one-to-one fight.

However, Jana Sena has fielded strong candidates in two to three constituencies resulting in splitting of votes belonging to both main political parties. The Congress and BJP candidates are also in the fray in all constituencies though their impact on the winning chances of TDP and YSRCP candidates is to be seen.

In Kuppam, caretaker Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been facing YSRCP's K Chandramouli whom he has defeated in 2014 elections by a huge margin. Naidu has been contesting here for seventh consecutive time to win for eighth time as MLA. Dr M Venkata Ramana (Jana Sena), Dr BR Suresh Babu (Congress) and NS Tulasinath (BJP) and four others are also in the election race.

Out of the 10 candidates remained in fray in Palamaner constituency, the main fight will be between Minister for Industries N Amaranatha Reddy (TDP) and N Venkata Gouda (YSRCP). P Srikanth Naidu of Jana Sena, Parthasarathi Reddy (Congress), Eswar Reddy (BJP) and five other contestants are also in poll battle.

A total of nine candidates have been contesting from Punganur where senior leader and sitting MLA of YSRCP P Ramachandra Reddy has been facing the first timer N Aneesha Reddy of TDP. B Ramachandra Yadav (Jana Sena), Syed Shafiya Nadimi (Congress), G Madan Mohan Babu (BJP) and four others are also in the contest.

In Piler, sitting MLA C Ramachandra Reddy (YSRCP) and N Kishore Kumar Reddy (TDP) were facing each other in a serious contest where B Dinesh (Jana Sena), Khaleel Syed Aghamohiuddin (Congress) and P Narendra Kumar Reddy (BJP) along with nine others have been left in the fray.

In Madanapalle constituency, 19 candidates have left in the election battle where former MLA D Ramesh (TDP) and M Nawaz Basha (YSRCP) have all set to try their luck. G Swathi of Jana Sena may also make her presence felt here along with D Mohana Ramireddy (Congress) and B Anand (BJP). Also, fourteen other candidates are in the fray.

Among the 12 candidates in Thamballapalle, the main fight will be between sitting MLA G Shankar Yadav (TDP) and P Dwarakanatha Reddy (YSRCP). M Prabhakar Reddy (Jana Sena) was also considered to be a candidate to make some impact. MN Chandrasekhara Reddy and eight others are also in race. In a sudden last-minute development, BJP candidate Manjunath Reddy has withdrawn his candidature.

Former MLA AS Manohar (TDP) and A Sreenivasulu (YSRCP) have been in serious contest in Chittoor where N Dayaram, T Govindarajulu (Congress) and V Jayakumar (BJP) and six others are in the final list of candidates. The Puthalapattu (SC) constituency also has 10 candidates out of which the main fight will be between TDPs L Lalitha Kumari and MS Babu of YSRCP. M Jagapathi (BSP), P Chitti Babu (Congress), L Bhanu Prakash (BJP) and five others in the race.

GD Nellore (SC) constituency will be having 11 candidates though the key contest will be between sitting YSRCP MLA K Narayana Swamy and a new candidate A Harikrishna of TDP. P Yugandhar (Jana Sena), S Narasimhulu (Congress), V Rajendran (BJP) and six others are in the fray.

Chandragiri has been witnessing 22 candidates though key contest will be between sitting YSRCP MLA C Bhaskar Reddy and P Nani of TDP. Dr S Surendra (Jana Sena), Sreenivasulu (Congress) and T Madhu Babu are also in the race. Sitting TDP MLA M Suguna has been facing former YSRCP MLA B Karunakar Reddy in Tirupati where another former MLA and Jana Sena candidate C Krishna Murthy can also make some impact. K Prameela (Congress), P Bhavani Shankar (BJP) and 10 others are also in the poll battle.

Sitting YSRCP MLA RK Roja has been trying her luck in Nagari again against TDP's novice G Bhanu Prakash. N Pravallika (BSP), P Rakesh Reddy (Congress), Nishidha Raju (BJP) and seven other candidates are in the race. B Sudhir Reddy (TDP) and B Madhusudhan Reddy (YSRCP) will fight tough battle for Srikalahasti. For the first time where BJP's K Anand may make his presence felt. N Vinutha (Jana Sena), S Bathaiah Naidu (Congress) and 10 others are in the field.

Twelve candidates are in the fray in Satyavedu (SC) constituency where JD Rajasekhar (TDP) and K Adimulam (YSRCP) have been trying their fortunes along with N Vijaya Kumar (BSP), P Chandra Sekhar (Congress) and S Venkataiah (BJP).
