2 held in serial robbery cases

Kurnool: The Allagadda police arrested two notorious criminals, who were involved in serial robbery cases and recovered Rs 12.6 lakh cash, two bikes and lethal weapons from them. Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, Allagadda DSP J Tippe Swamy has said that the accused, J Nagendra and Ravindra, residents of Pedda Kottala village in Nandyal, had robbed people by threatening to kill them.

G Ramagopala Reddy, a resident of Peraipalli village in Allagadda mandal, had lodged a complaint with the police. He stated two persons had robbed him of Rs 1.18 lakh near petrol pump on June 12, the DSP said.

Based on his complaint, a team was formed with CI Naresh and began search to identify them with CCTVs located at the crime spot. While conducting vehicle search at Maremma temple in Battaluru Metta, the bike-born accused were taken into custody under suspicion.

During the investigation, they have confessed robbing of Rs 3.5 lakh from one U Hussain Reddy, a resident of Thodendlapalli village under Chagalamarri mandal on February 13; Rs 4.1 lakh from Mabu Hussain of Obulampalle village in Allagadda mandal on March 12 and Rs 3.9 lakh from Alamuru Venkata Subbaiah of Burrareddypalli village in Dornipadu mandal on March 20.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr K Fakkeerappa has appreciated the cops and residents of Allagadda. He felicitated M Sudarshan Reddy, Kailash and P Naganna for assisting the police in arresting the criminals.
