274 Ward Secretaries required for urban local bodies in Chittoor dist

Chittoor: For the 269 wards in Chittoor district, 274 ward secretaries are needed for the urban local bodies like Chittoor ( 50), Tirupati ( 100), Srikalahasti ( 23), Madanapalli ( 43), Punganur (16), Palamaner (13), Nagari (17) and Puttur ( 12), according to C Obulesh, Chittoor Municipal Commissioner. Posting orders will be issued for the selected candidates by September 25, he said.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Friday , he said that each Municipality will be allotted Ward Administration Secretary , Ward Amenities Secretary , Ward Sanitation and Environment Secretary, Ward Welfare and Development Secretary, Ward Energy Secretary ,Ward Revenue Secretary , Ward Police Secretary , Ward Medical and Health Secretary , and Ward Education Secretary under the control of the respective municipal commissioners .

Training will be imparted for 1,170 ward welfare and development secretaries relating to 5 Municipal Corporations in the district, and 34 Municipalities of Royalaseema Region in Chittoor. The process of selecting resource personnel is under progress, he said.

In Chittoor Municipal Corporation , that there are 860 ward volunteers are already working and 159 vacancies will be filled up soon. `` We have already identified 39 private buildings for setting the Ward Secretary Offices, while there are 11 government buildings already available, he added.
