90% of govt assurances being implemented: FM

Kadapa: State Finance Minister B Rajendranath Reddy said that government is committed for implementation of all assurances made by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during the 2019 electioneering.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday he said that about 90 per cent of assurances like distributing house sites, Rythu Bharosa, Ammavodi, etc are being implemented in the first year by including them in the current budget. He said among them, Ammavodi is the most important scheme being taken up by state government and first of its kind in the country.

The Finance Minister pointed out that previous TDP government had implemented only limited assurances against 650 mentioned in the party manifesto. While defending his government stand over cancellation of loan waiver to the farmers, he pointed that previous government had allocated Rs 14,000 crores in its budget against Rs 82,000 crores loan waiver to the farmers.

He alleged that Rs 14,000 cr were paid to Podupulakshmi groups against Rs 28,000 crores. He said YSR Congress government has decided to provide house sites for 25 lakh people in state on Ugadi day.

State Housing Minister C Sriranganatha Raja said as many as 1.60lakh eligible were identified for providing house sites in YSR Kadapa district. He said government will pay Rs 2 lakhs to each beneficiary for construction of house and the remaining will be arranged as loan from the banks for Pavala Vaddi.

Revenue Minister P Subash Chandra Bose disclosed that 2,315 acres of government land was identified for housing scheme and 35,600 acres are required for the purpose. He said remaining land would be acquired from private persons by spending Rs 85 crores.
