AgriGold victims demand release of 1.150 crore for payment to depositors in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: AgriGold victims and agents on Thursday demanded that the State government immediately release Rs 1,150 crore as promised. The State government in the State made budgetary allocation for payment to the AgriGold victims.

The Association, at its meeting at the Dasari Bhavani decided to submit representations to the District Collectors in all districts during the Spandana programme to be held on October 21, requesting the government to pay Rs 270 crore to those who had deposited below Rs.10,000.

Speaking on the occasion, the honorary president of the Association Muppalla Nageswara Rao said the State government had promised to pay Rs 1,150 crore to those who had deposited below Rs 20,000. He further said the High Court had also issued orders to pay Rs 10,000 to the small depositors.

He said the Association would stage a dharna on November 18 and 19 if the State government failed to fulfil its promise. The association leaders EV Naidu, Sekhar, Seshu Kumar and others were present at the meeting.
