Andhra Pradesh: Demolition of temple idols continues, this time in Vijayawada

A series of statues are being destroyed in the temples of Andhra Pradesh. Another idol was destroyed in Vijayawada at the same time as the controversy was raging in Vizianagaram Ramateertham temple. A clay statue of Seethamma was destroyed in the Sitarama Mandir at the Pandit Nehru Bus Stand in Vijayawada. However, the police found that the lock of the temple was still there.

A case has been registered and is being investigated over the incident. Police are investigating whether the mob from the mess smashed the statue. TDP and BJP leaders are rushed to the spot. Former minister Devineni Uma has already reached the spot and demanded those who destroyed the idols to be severely punished.

However, there were reports that the statue made of clay, which could have been destroyed by rats or due the wind. In this backdrop, TDP leader Pattabhi Ram, who reached the spot, was outraged by the remarks and demanded that CCTV cameras be examined and an inquiry be held.
