Tensions high at Ramateertham amid BJP-Janasena's Dharma Yatra, police deploys forces

The incident of demolition of the idol of Lord Rama in Vizianagaram district's Ramateertham village is taking on a political stir. Opened a war of words between the authorities and the opposition. Already the visit of several politicians in Ramateertham has created tense atmosphere. In this backdrop, the BJP-Janasena jointly called for a Ramateertham Dharma Yatra today. With this, there was high tension in Ramateertham once again.

BJP and Janasena leaders will stage a huge rally from Visakhapatnam to Ramatheertham issue as part of the Dharma Yatra. BJP and Janasena are demanding severe punishment for the culprits in the incident. The rally will be attended by Sunil Deodar, MP CM Ramesh, MLC Madhav, Janasena leader Nadendla Manohar and several other leaders.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the visit of BJP and Janasena leaders to the Ramatheertham issue, the police have beefed up security. The police have been deployed at Ramateertham main temple, the Bodikonda stairway, the Kodandaramuni temple on the hill, the entrance to the hill and the back of the hill. With the exception of the priests, barricades and fences were erected to prevent anyone from going up the bare hill. Sections 144 and police Act 30 Act were enforced in Ramateertham.

Police were alerted by the Dharma Yatra program called by BJP and Jana Sena and house-arrested several BJP leaders in Gajuwaka. A police patrol was set up in front of the house of BJP and Janasena leaders from midnight without going to Ramateertham. With this, there was excitement over the BJP-Janasena Ramateertham Dharma Yatra.

Ministers have already visited Botsa and Vellampalli Ramateertham. It was clarified that strict action will be taken against those responsible. But, opposition parties are blaming the failure of the government for the series of attacks on Hindu temples in the state. TDP and BJP leaders are demanding that Vellampalli resign from his post as he was responsible for the incidents.

On the other hand, there was tension during MP Vijayasaireddy's visit to Ramateertham. The convoy of Vijayasaireddy, who was visiting the temple and descending the hill, was attacked by the protesters there. Meanwhile, CM Jagan has ordered a CID probe into the Ramateertham incident.
