Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh has clarified that the second installment of the ambitious 'Jagananna Amma Vodi' scheme being implemented by the state government will be held on January 11. The education department has made all the arrangements in this regard. He said GO-3 was released on Friday in connection with the event. It is unfortunate that during the implementation of this scheme, the state election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar released the panchayat election schedule and saw to it that the implementation of the scheme was stopped in the name of the code.

This year too, the second installment is scheduled to be given on the 9th, but due to the second Saturday and Sunday, it has been postponed to the 11th due to holidays, the minister said. In Nellore on Monday, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said would credit Amma Vodi scheme amount directly to the mothers in a virtual manner by pressing a computer button. Minister Suresh said 1,76,589 new mothers would benefit this time as compared to last year. Last year it was given to 42,24,302 people and this year it is being sold to 44,00,891 people. The minister was incensed that Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar was giving the panchayat election schedule unilaterally at a time when the Amma Vodi scheme was being implemented.

He said that the government was getting a good name with the schemes and it was unfair to stop them. The scheme will not fall under the code as the program will be held in Nellore urban area. Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme will provide Rs 15,000 to mothers off which Rs 1,000 will be deposited in the toilet maintenance fund and the remaining Rs 14,000 will be credited directly to the mothers' accounts.
