AP Formation Day: Sacrifices of Potti Sriramulu recollected
Kadapa: The district administration has celebrated Andhra Pradesh Formation Day on a grand note here on Friday. Public representatives, officials and several people paid rich tributes to the Potti Sriramulu on the occasion.
Deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha, Government Chief Whip G Srikantha Reddy, District Collector Ch Harikiran, SP K K N Anburajan garlanded the portrait of Potti Sriramulu and recalled the sacrifices made by the departed leader.
Addressing a meeting at Neknamkhan Kalakshetram, Deputy Chief Minister said that people of the state should remain grateful to Potti Sriramulu as he had sacrificed his life for achieving separate state for Andhras.
Amath Basha said that people should follow the ideals of Potti Sriramulu and Mahatma Gandhi for the development of state. He said that previous government neglected the AP Formation Day during its 5 years regime.
After YSR congress emerging to the power in 2019 elections it was decided to celebrate AP Formation Day in the state. He lauded that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has fulfilled 80percent poll promises though state is facing financial crisis. He said people who have Agrogya Sree card can avail treatment for different diseases in 150 corporate hospitals in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore from November 1.
District Collector Ch Harikiran also addressed the meeting. On this occasion Deputy Chief Minister felicitated freedom fighters family members V Narayanamma and R Dastagiramma. District Tourism Officer K Rajasekhar Reddy, former MLC Pochamreddy Venkata Subba Reddy, and others were present.
