APSBCWA chief meets AP Governor in Vijayawada

AP State Backward Classes Welfare Association leaders meeting Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan at the Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada on Thursday

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Association president K Shankar Rao along with the 13 district leaders met the Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan at Rajbhavan on Thursday and gave a representation for the welfare of the BC community people in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Shankar Rao said that even after 72 years of Independence, the BC community people were in poverty and most of them were earning their livelihood by doing petty activities.

He said that though the BCs comprise 55 percent of the state population, the government had done nothing for the welfare of them, he alleged. He said that in this regard they had given a representation to the governor with 17 demands.

BC leaders Y Koteswara Rao, UMV Nagalingam, P Hanumantha Rao, N Appa RAo, D Yesubabu, R Appa Rao, B Subba Rao S Nagaraju and others were present.
