SBCWA chief opens Thogata Veera Kshatriya office in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Thogata Veera Kshatriya Seva Sangam state office was inaugurated near the Mayuri Distributers office in Gandhinagar on Sunday by State BC Welfare Association president K Shankar Rao.

Speaking to the media persons, Shankar Rao said there were lakhs of weavers in the State and there was no proper encouragement from the government to these people for a better living.

He said the weaver community was affected as the state and the Central governments had neglected them. Even after 72 years of independence, there were no proper support or welfare schemes to the weavers from the State government and there was a risk of extinction, he said.

Shankar said that political parties have given promises to uplift the BC community. However, after coming to power, they ignored the community, he lamented. He said that the State government should make efforts and strive to uplift the 56 percent BC community people on a priority basis.

He said that they would support the political party, which delivers justice to the people of the BC community. Pension should be given to weavers who attain the age of 50 years, he demanded.

Andhra Pradesh Thogata Veera Kshatriya Seva Sangam state president K Nageswara Rao, general secretary B Chandrashekar, E Lakshminarayana, P Adinarayana, B Venkataswamy, A Prasad Rao and others were present.
