Secunderabad: Release white paper on BC status, Centre urged

Secunderabad: The State president of BC Welfare Association, Jajula Srinivas Goud, has demanded the union government take up BC issues in the upcoming Parliament session and release a white paper on BC status. He was speaking at a programme organized by BC student association at Mettuguda to release the association's new year calendar on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Goud urged ruling and opposition parties to discuss issues of BCs, who constitute 60 per cent of total population, instead of wasting time and precious public money discussing controversial issues. Goud demanded the union government to include a separate column in the NPR for enumerating different castes and their population in the upcoming census.

He also demanded AP and Telangana government to pass assembly resolution demanding central government to collect BC figures in the upcoming census. He thanked the CM KCR for appointing BCs as mayors and municipal chairman in posts allocated for general category. He said various BC associations would conduct an extensive meeting on February 2 at Telugu University to decide on action plan for a nation-wide movement on BC issues. He urged BCs to be ready to fight with Union government to protect BC rights.

National president of BC student association T Vikram Goud, state president Kulkacharla Srinivas, S Durgaiah, V Madhu, Indram Rajaka, Gautham Prajapathi, Arjun, Shankar, Chander and others attended the meeting.
