Hyderabad: BCs stage protest at Jantar Mantar
Musheerabad: BC leaders from Telangana led by the national president of BC Welfare Association R Krishnaiah staged protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on Thursday, demanding the central government to provide 50 % reservation to BCs in Parliament and Assembly elections.
Citing the recent statistics collected by the central government, he lamented that it was found that BC representation was limited to 14%. He demanded the government to introduce BC bill in the Parliament to provide 50% reservation and also amend the constitution to increase reservations to BCs in Panchayat Raj bodies from 22% to 50%. Among those who participated in the protest were Gujja Krishna, BC JAC chairman Bhoopesh Sagar, unemployed JAC chairman Neela Venkatesh, Venumadhav, Purshotham Sagar and others.
