Artistes captivate audience with their performance at Siddhartha Auditorium
Vijayawada: A special programme was organised in the morning session of 24th comedy Telugu comedy playlet competitions on Sunday at Sidhartha Auditorium. The programme was designed as a bunch consisting of music, dance and drama to mark 46th annual celebrations of Sumadhura Kala Niketan.
Popular singers Bhamidipati Srilalita, Bhavyasri Geethika and P Satwika Srija presented 'Paduta Teeyaga' with melodious film songs and entertained the gathering. With their fine tune and mellow voice the singers captured the audience and received appreciations from audience.
The dance items were showcased by Lekya Bharani, Harihara Brahmani and also the disciples of Hemanth. Harihara Brahmani had presented a Kuchipudi dance item and acclaimed laurels from the gathering present. 'Papabhaya haranam' a devotional dance item was presented by Lekhyabharani in Kerala traditional dance forum 'Mohiniattam'.
With her rich experience and constant training Lekhya received a round of applause from the dance lovers. The disciples of dance guru Hemanth presented a folk dance 'Jaiyyare'. With colourful costumes and beautiful footwork the dancers Mahati, Keerthana, Ramgavrutha, Vaishnavi, Soumya, Siri Sanjana, Ishani, Brinda and Hasini performed and received applause from connoisseurs.
To inculcate the theatre aptitude among the youth, inter-college skit competitions were organised for college students. Andhra Loyola College, SRR and CVR College, KBN College, Nalanda College, PB Sidhartha College and Sri Durga Malleswara Sidhartha Mahila College students performed to their best to get appreciations from public with their skills.
Sumadhura Kalaniketan should be appreciated for conducting such events to encourage the amateur artistes along with the professionals.
