Balineni elected as Lawn Tennis Association honorary president

Ongole: The members of the Prakasam District Lawn Tennis Association have elected Minister for Energy, Forests, Environment, Science, and Technology Balineni Srinivasa Reddy as their honorary president.

Minister Srinivasa Reddy and District Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara inaugurated the second lawn tennis court at the Hyderi Club in Ongole on Thursday. The association President Dr G K Mohan Reddy requested the minister to develop the tennis courts at Giddaluru, Markapuram, Kanigiri, and Ongole as synthetic courts and extend cooperation to organize state-level tournaments in them.

The members of the Prakasam district lawn tennis association gathered at the program has unanimously elected the minister as their honorary president and congratulated him.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister assured that the government would cooperate in development of sports and he personally promised to cooperate in promoting tennis in the district.

The Hyderi Club general secretary K Venkatareddy, vice president Malakondaiah, Subrahmanyam, K Ramakrishna Reddy, Trisankara Rao, Allu Satyanarayana, Venkateswara Rao, and other members of the Hyderi Club and district lawn tennis association also participated in the program.
